The Victorian Supreme Court is set to hear the dispute between Stadium Super Trucks and the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS).
Owned by American racer Robby Gordon, Stadium Super Trucks competed on the streets of the Gold Coast in 2015 and 2016, though missed last year’s event.
The series has already supported Supercars twice in 2018, featuring at Adelaide and Barbagallo, where a wheel struck the pedestrian bridge following a crash for Matt Nolan off one of the jumps on the front straight.
Supercars has drafted in the Kumho Tyres V8 Touring Car Series to replace Stadium Super Trucks, with category manager Liam Kirkpatrick hopeful of attracting a 15-car grid for the non-championship event.
It will be the first time the unofficial third tier has raced on the Gold Coast.
CAMS refused to comment on the matter when contacted by Speedcafe.com.
Comment has been sought from Stadium Super Trucks series owner Robby Gordon.
The case is set to be heard at 1030 on Friday morning.
