A decision in legal proceedings between Stadium Super Trucks and the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport is expected to not be made until tomorrow (Thursday).
SST is seeking an injunction against CAMS, which has suspended the American series’ licence to compete in Australia on safety grounds.
The case began last Friday but Justice John Digby reserved his decision to summarise all the evidence and make a decision today.
Speedcafe.com understands that said decision has been delayed another day after Robby Gordon Entertainment, which owns the series, attempted to introduce new evidence to the case.
It is believed that evidence pertained to on-track incidents which occurred during last weekend’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
SST, currently led by Australian Matt Brabham, was to race at the Vodafone Gold Coast 600 in just over a week’s time, where it has run twice before (2015, 2016).
It has already supported the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship twice in 2018, at Adelaide and Barbagallo, the latter of which saw a wheel strike the pedestrian bridge when Matt Nolan crashed off one of the jumps on the main straight.
CAMS was approached by Speedcafe.com but could not provide a comment due to the ongoing nature of the court proceedings.
The Kumho Tyre Australian V8 Touring Car Series is set to replace SST on the streets of Surfers Paradise when the event takes place on October 19-21.
