Townsville is one of just five Supercars events on the free-to-air network’s schedule this year as a result of a new-for-2026 broadcast deal.
With Darwin’s Hidden Valley no longer part of its line-up, Seven’s last event was the season-opener at Sydney Motorsport Park in mid-February.
Seven’s Townsville preview show will feature host Matt White and Supercars Championship-winning expert voices Garth Tander and Mark Winterbottom.
Tickford Racing driver Cam Waters and Grove Racing CEO Brenton Grove will make guest appearances.
It’ll air on Sunday, July 5, at 11:00am in Melbourne and 2:30pm in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
Seven’s coverage of the Townsville event itself will take place across the following Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm AEST.
Supercars’ broadcast agreement gives Fox Sports exclusive rights over Fridays, meaning FTA viewers miss out on the opening Townsville race.
Seven’s event coverage will be fronted by White and Molly Taylor, while also featuring the regular Supercars-supplied on-air talent.
Supercars confirmed earlier this week that Richard Craill has been appointed lead commentator on a permanent basis, ending an early-season rotation of the role.
Seven’s head of motorsport, Angela Rampal, said fans will be well covered by the network’s Townsville offering.
“We’re pumped to have our preview show returning this weekend with an all-star commentary lineup including Matt White, Garth Tander and Mark Winterbottom, with Mark fresh from having to step in and race for Thomas Randle in Darwin, which will provide great insight for viewers,” she said.
“With our preview show this weekend, as well as full replays, highlights and bonus content available for streaming on Seven and 7plus Sport for race weekend, fans can tune in for all the action.”
Seven’s Supercars schedule also includes the Bathurst 1000, Gold Coast 500 and Adelaide Grand Final.
