Will Brown

Triple Eight Race Engineering

Driver Bio

Like many up-and-coming drivers, Brown plied his trade in karts and Formula Ford. He was one of a small crop of drivers to contest the short-lived CAMS Australian Formula 4 Championship, which superseded the Australian Formula Ford Championship.

In 2016, he won the CAMS Australian Formula 4 Championship and in the same year won the inaugural Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 Series. Brown also raced in the Australian Formula Ford Series. He narrowly missed out on the title, which went to Leanne Tander, after missing the first round.

Having succeeded early on in his career, Brown stepped up to the Super2 Series in 2017 where he was regularly in contention for top five finishes with Eggleston Motorsport. He finished ninth in his debut season, scoring a third place finish in just his fourth start. He had similar results in 2018 on his way to sixth in the standings.

He made his Supercars debut in 2018 with Erebus Motorsport, joining Anton De Pasquale in the Penrite-backed Holden ZB Commodore.

Brown’s third Super2 season brought him his first race win at Wanneroo Raceway. Four DNFs ultimately hurt his campaign, suffering his worst finish of 12th in the series standings.

In the COVID-hit 2020 campaign, Brown finished runner-up to Thomas Randle. That season featured just seven races, of which he won two and only finished off the podium once.

The exit of Anton De Pasquale and David Reynolds at the end of 2020 from Erebus Motorsport opened the door for Brown to join the team full-time in 2021 alongside Brodie Kostecki. There was success by the season’s end, winning at Sydney Motorsport Park under lights.

In his third season with Erebus Motorsport, Brown finished fifth while teammate Brodie Kostecki won the championship. Brown left the team at the end of 2023 to join Triple Eight Race Engineering where he replaced Shane van Gisbergen for the 2024 season.

Success was immediate and Brown dominated the 2024 championship, finishing on the podium at every event, to beat teammate Broc Feeney to the title.
