Suzuki has confirmed that it will make a full-time return to the MotoGP World Championship in 2015.
The Japanese manufacturer, which last won a MotoGP race with Australian Chris Vermeulen at Le Mans in 2007, scaled back its campaign to one bike in 2011 before withdrawing ahead of the following season.
It is this week testing its 1000cc prototype bike alongside the current MotoGP outfits during an official test at Catalunya, Spain.
The team is being led by former Yamaha team boss Davide Brivio, while Aspar Aprillia CRT rider Randy de Puniet is at the controls.
The manufacturer had stated an intention to come back for the 2014 season when it withdrew at the end of the 800cc era.
Suzuki riders’ have won the premier World Championship class on six occasions, with back-to-back titles for Barry Sheene in 1976 and 1977 followed by success for Marco Lucchinelli (1981), Franco Uncini (1982), Kevin Schwantz (1993) and Kenny Roberts, Jr. (2000).
