Four manufacturers will undergo Balance of Performance tweaks ahead of this weekend’s TCR Australia round at The Bend Motorsport Park.
TCR’s global technical team has communicated the changes to its series across the world with adjustments required to be made immediately.
Garry Rogers Motorsport and Kelly Racing respectively have been handed a weight break with the Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Opel Astra carrying 20kg less in BoP weight.
Meanwhile, HMO Customer Racing will have to add 10kg to its Hyundai i30s with Wall Racing following suit for its Honda Civic Type Rs.
The adjustments affect all TCR categories around the world, with data collected from TCR series and championships globally.
This is the first BoP change that has been made since the TCR Australia Series season kicked off in Sydney.
UPDATE: TCR has issued another BoP amendment overnight which sets the Audi RS3 lose 20kg, with a further 10kg taken away from the Volkswagen Golf.
These BoP changes are separate to the compensation weight adjustments that are made round-to-round on a local front.
For The Bend, the series leading Hyundais will carry the maximum 60kg compensation weight, the Alfas 50kg, the VW Golfs 30kg and the Hondas carry 10kg.
The Subarus, Audis, Renault and Opels are not required to have compensation weight for The Bend.
Action from TCR Australia Round 3 at The Bend begins today with opening practice scheduled for 1220 local time.
