Craig Lowndes, Will Davison and Todd Kelly have all been handed penalties following two bruising Saturday encounters on the streets of Townsville.
Stewards investigated nine incidents following Races 20 and 21.
Lowndes has been deducted 25 championship points for careless driving on James Courtney at Turn 11 on the opening lap of Race 20.
The Red Bull Holden driver caused a multi-car incident when he dived up the inside of the Holden Racing Team Commodore into into the right-hand bend.
Lowndes was also dealt a two-place grid penalty for today’s Race 22 thanks to contact with the rear of Garth Tander’s HRT Commodore at Turn 2 earlier in the lap.
Post-race, Courtney had been highly critical of Lowndes’ driving on the opening lap.
“I don’t know what he (Lowndes) was thinking,” said Courtney.
“He came from about 80 cars back and locked up and took the front off the car.
“Then he made a meal of it coming into the next one (where he was collected by Will Davison).
“I’m sure he didn’t mean it, but it gave us a bit of damage and the boys had a bit of extra work to do.”
Davison meanwhile has been docked 25 points for spinning Lowndes after the latter’s contact with Courtney.
Davison was also awarded a two place grid penalty for Race 22 after running Scott McLaughlin onto the Turn 13 exit grass while fighting for third in the closing stages.
The biggest penalty was meanwhile saved for Todd Kelly, who has lost 35 points and four Race 22 grid positions after his hit on Jack Perkins.
Investigations into collisions between Chaz Mostert and Rick Kelly and between Lee Holdsworth and James Moffat were both cleared, while a three-car tangle between Jason Bright, Shane van Gisbergen and Garth Tander too drew a ‘no breach of rules’ verdict.
Stewards also looked into a report that Courtney had been outside the fast lane when he exited the pits and deemed that no breach had occurred.
