Kumho V8 Touring Car Series driver Matt Hansen has teed off at series leader Shae Davies in the aftermath of contact between the pair in Race 3 of the third round on the weekend at Winton.

Davies, who finished third for the round behind Tony Evangelou and Ryan Simpson but retained his series lead, made contact with Hansen in the third and final race.

The light touch spun Hansen’s ex-Holden Racing Team Commodore, which was collected by Morgan Haber while stranded at Penrite Corner – both cars eliminated from the race with damage and a possible podium result gone begging for Hansen.

Stewards decided to take no action over the on-track incident, prompting Hansen – who won his first Kumho Series race in the last round at Mallala – to fire a rocket at Davies post-round via Facebook.

The Fernandez Motorsport driver had already been penalised for the weekend in Race 2 after contact with Haber gave him a post-race 30-second time penalty that dropped him from finishing third on the road to 18th in the final results.

“&*^%& Shae Davies little gnome turns me around cause he can’t pass me … Destroys 2 cars. Payback is going to be a bitch for him this season!” posted Hansen.

Davies, who leads the series at its halfway mark, responded.

“Goodluck with that champion. If there was something to answer I wouldn’t have been on the podium.”

But the online tit-for-tat wasn’t done, Hansen responding: “I don’t have to turn people around to get past them, but I’ll definitely think about it next time.”

The next round of the Kumho Series will be at Queensland Raceway on August 3-4.
