Volvo launches McLaughlin edition road cars

Scott McLaughlin is the latest V8 Supercars driver to have a limited edition run of road cars named in his honour.

Volvo has this week launched a batch of 10 McLaughlin Edition S60 and V60 Polestars as part of the performance brand’s expansion into the New Zealand market.

The cars are mechanically identical to the Polestar models seen in Australia, but feature a number of trim upgrades, including McLaughlin insignia on the front guards and headrests.

McLaughlin will also provide each owner with an ‘exclusive track experience’ consisting of performance driving under the 22-year-old’s tuition.

”Scott is a vastly talented racing driver with a bright future ahead of him,” said Hans Bååth, managing director of Polestar Performance.

“His input in the development of the Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar has been vital and we are glad to be able to offer performance oriented customers in New Zealand our models.”

Volvo’s move to name a road car after McLaughlin follows the sale of 233 Craig Lowndes edition Holden Commodores last year.
