Greg Murphy is a wanted man for the 2011 V8 Supercars endurance races after all but ruling himself out of a full-time drive in the Championship next year.
The Kiwi hero is believed to be courted by the Toll Holden Racing Team and TeamVodafone, with a decision set to be made soon.
It will be the first time since 1998 that the four-time Bathurst-winner has been without a full-time seat in the V8 championship.
Murphy conceded that he will miss out on a regular drive and wants to lock in the most competitive endurance seat possible.
“It’s not looking overly good for a full-time gig, so we’re just going through the motions of sorting out an enduro drive,” Murphy told Radio SEN.
“I’ve got some great offers on the table there, and in not too long, we’ll be announcing something there.”
Murphy confirmed last month that he would leave Paul Morris Motorsport’s Castrol EDGE Racing at the end of the 2010 season. He is set to be replaced by Steve Owen. CLICK HERE for Speedcafe.com.au’s story …
“I’ve made a decision not to stay where I am. There could have been a position there, but I chose not to,” he said.
“There wasn’t a lot of options on the table in the field, and there wasn’t many that got me excited anyway.”
