This weekend the motorsport will be flowing thick and fast. The headline LIVE acts include F1, MotoGP, Indycars and NASCAR. Plus V8XTRA will be a ‘must see’.
Formula 1
Queanbeyan’s Mark Webber has well and truly got the ‘Red Mist’ flowing in the Red Bull. What better place to once again show the way to teammate Sebastian Vettel than the home Grand Prix of his teammate! The German Grand Prix from Hockenheim gets underway with qualifying on Saturday evening on ONE HD. The pre-race show can be seen LIVE on Sunday night from 9pm, with full LIVE race coverage set to get underway at 9.50pm.
MotoGP
MotoGP heads across the Atlantic and to the West Coast of the USA to Laguna Seca outside San Francisco. LIVE qualifying can be seen on ONE HD from 6.55am Sunday morning. LIVE race coverage will screen on ONE HD at 6.45am Monday morning.
Indycars
Toowoomba’s Will Power continues to be the man to catch in the Indycar Series. Power not only leads the series, he’s also the defending champion of this weekend’s race in Edmonton! Tune into ESPN LIVE at 7am Monday morning for the 11th round of this year’s championship chase.
NASCAR
The NASCAR action this weekend centres on Indianapolis. All three main series will be competing in Indianapolis, but only the Sprint Cup Series will be at the famed 2.5 mile Speedway. Both the Camping World Truck Series and the Nationwide Series will race at O’Reilly Raceway Park. LIVE coverage of the Truck Series’ AAA Insurance 200 is on Foxsports at 9.30am Saturday morning. The Nationwide Series’ Kroger 200 is LIVE from 9.30am Sunday morning on ONE HD. The Sprint Cup Allstate 400 from the Brickyard is LIVE on Foxsports at 2am Monday morning.
Other
Eurosport will air LIVE coverage of the European Touring Car Championship from the Salzburgring from 7.15pm Sunday night. It will then cross to the Porsche Supercup at Hockenheim at 7.45pm, before heading back to Austria for the second Touring Car Race at 9.45pm
V8XTRA
We are confident that no elections will be called this weekend to disrupt the V8XTRA telecast on Seven from midday Saturday. This week’s show is a must for Peter Brock fans. V8XTRA begins the countdown to the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 with a trip down memory lane at Champion’s Brock Experience in Queensland. Former Bathurst winner John Harvey joins Neil Crompton and Mark Larkham to bring back memories of the Mountain. They have even dug into the Seven Sport vault to reveal some rarely seen Bathurst race vision from the late seventies. The technical feature story will have Mark Larkham take viewers on a tour of Brocky’s 1969 Monaro.
