A collection of Australia’s best racing champions have come together for a PR stunt at Warnambool, Victoria.
Five-times world motorcycle champion Mick Doohan, V8 Supercars champion Jamie Whincup, world rally driver Chris Atkinson, V8 team owner Paul Morris and sprintcar hero Shane Stewart meet at the famous speedway venue in a private day to sample the Monster Sprintcar.
The event was put on by Monster Energy Drinks, who were producing video content during the course of the day.
While Doohan, Morris and Stewart have driven Sprintcars before, it was a first time experience for Whincup and Atkinson.
Atkinson said he was thrilled with his maiden drive of a Sprintcar.
“It was unreal!” Atkinson told Speedcafe.com.
“I haven’t driven one of these before and it took a few laps to get the hang of but once you got it it was full gas.
“I have to thank Monster for inviting me down and letting me have a crack at the Sprintcar. It was a mad experience!”
