The opening endurance race of V8 Supercars' inaugural Pirtek Enduro Cup will be known as the Wilson Security Sandown 500 under a new deal confirmed today.
The security services firm has been a prolific sponsor of Australian motorsport in recent years, currently backing the Dick Johnson Racing Fords of Chaz Mostert and Tim Blanchard, as well as the Brad Jones Racing entry of David Wall.
The naming rights sponsorship of the Sandown classic comes as part of a wider ‘Official Security Supplier and Security Partner' agreement with V8 Supercars that will begin next season.
In 2012, V8 Supercars' 500km enduro was sponsored by another category partner, Dick Smith, upon its return to Sandown following a four-year stint at Phillip Island.
The Wilson Security deal has been announced less than a month out from the September 15 race.
Wilson Security last week confirmed that it will continue to back DJR for the balance of the season off the back of the sponsor scoring its first ever race win in the class, courtesy of Chaz Mostert.
