
Australian Ryan Briscoe and Richard Westbrook secured a third consecutive GTLM class win in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
The factory Ford GT duo overcame a 15kg weight increase and turbo boost reduction to take the win by 1.4s from the works Corvette of Tommy Milner and Oliver Gavin.
Briscoe and Westbrook benefitted from a three-stop strategy which saw them rejoin the race for the final stint with a comfortable 11 second lead.
The pair now lead the championship standings.
The sister Corvette of Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen took the final spot on the GTLM podium.
Action Express Racing claimed the outright victory courtesy of Dane Cameron and Eric Curran.

The duo guided their Chevrolet Corvette Daytona Prototype to victory by 10.1s over team-mates Joao Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi.
Jordan and Ricky Taylor finished third for Wayne Taylor Racing.
GP2

Red Bull Junior Pierre Gasly ended his victory drought by scoring a hard fought win in the GP2 feature race at Silverstone.
The Frenchman’s triumph ended a winless streak which stretched back to his Formula Renault campaign in 2013.
Gasly made the most of as slick strategy that saw him duck into the pits early for hard tyres having run at the front on softs.
The decision saw him power back through the field as the front runners suffered from tyre degradation.
The Prema Racing driver took the victory from Antonio Giovanazzi by 9.4s, while Brit Oliver Rowland finished third.
Jordan King tamed challenging wet conditions to complete a lights-to-flag win in the sprint race .
The Brit claimed a home win from Luca Ghiotto. Rowland assumed the championship lead with another third place finish.
Rowland leads the championship by a point from Giovinazzi ahead of a trip to Hungary from July 22-24.
New Zealander Mitch Evans has slid to fifth in the standings after finishing fourth and ninth in the two races. He is just nine points shy of the lead.
GP3

Antonio Fuoco boosted his GP3 title hopes with an impressive come from behind drive to win a rain-affected second race at Silverstone.
The Ferrari young driver found himself in eighth on the opening lap before the Italian produced a series of overtaking moves in tricky wet conditions to put himself into contention.
Fuoco eventually took the lead with two laps remaining where he remained until the finish.
Officials missed the leader when waving the chequered flag which saw the race backdated by a lap.
In the end, Fuoco took the win from Alex Palou and championship leader Charles Leclerc.
Alexander Albon completed a start to finish win in the opening encounter as he led home Leclerc by 1.6s, with Fuoco in third.
Leclerc leads Albon by just two points ahead of the next round at Hungary’s Hungaroring from July 22-24.
BRDC British F3

Thomas Randle is lying third in the BRDC F3 Championship standings after scoring his second win of the season Spa-Francorchamps .
The Melbourne ace began the weekend with a ninth place finish in a shortened opening heat.
Randle started from seventh on the grid but dropped to ninth in the early stages.
He was unable to recover as officials red flagged the race after five laps due to a crash involving Quinlan Lall.
Lall was taken to hospital for precautionary checks before being released shortly after.
The former Australian Formula Ford champion made the decisive move on Toby Sowery for the lead on the final lap.
Randle was involved in an entertaining dice in Race 3 which resulted in a fifth place finish.
Toyota Racing Series winner Lando Norris took out the opening and final heats.
Randle is lying 19 points adrift of championship leader Ricky Collard heading into the penultimate round at Snetterton from August 6-7.
World Superbikes

Tom Sykes cut Jonathan Rea’s World Superbike Championship lead down to 46 points after recording victory in Race 2 at Laguna Seca.
The Kawasaki rider made the most of a retirement for Rea, who suffered a mechanical issue following an earlier off track excursion.
Sykes faced relentless pressure from the Ducati pair of Davide Giuliano and Chaz Davies before going on to take the chequered flag.
The race had been restarted following a crash for Pawel Szkopek at Turn 6.
Rea tasted victory in the opening encounter after fending off Sykes, who had led the early laps.
Former MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden claimed the final place on the podium in front of his home crowd.
The World Superbike Championship heads to Germany’s Laustizring for round 10 from September 16-18.

British Superbike Championship
Australian Jason O’Halloran scored his maiden British Superbike Championship victory following a dramatic finish to the opening heat at Snetterton.
The Wollongong rider diced with Honda Racing team-mate Dan Linfoot for the majority of the race and it seemed the latter was on course to take the win.
However, a mistake from Linfoot at the final corner of the last lap handed a first win to O’Halloran.
Shane Byrne finished third ahead of another Australian rider in Billy McConnell.
O’Halloran ended his weekend with a fifth in Race 2 that moved him to third in the standings.
