Australian racer James Kovacic will make his American Le Mans Series debut at Lime Rock in two weeks, driving for Intersport Racing.
Kovacic will drive for Ohio-based Intersport Racing, one of the founding teams of the ALMS and a leading private entry in American sportscar racing.
Kovacic believes this is the break that he needs to prove that he is capable of racing at the highest level.
“I’m very excited about getting this break,” Kovacic said.
“This is a chance of a lifetime, especially considering we have no budget to go racing. I’m very pleased and relieved that Jon Field and the Intersport team have remembered me after I won for them at Laguna Seca last year and they have really stepped up and given me this great opportunity.”
Kovacic is hoping that this will springboard some interest in his career and secure some vital funds to race the full season in the ALMS program in 2012.
