Tom Alexander has put the Ross Stone Racing Holden Colorado on pole for Round 2 of the ECB SuperUtes Series at a sunny Winton.

The New Zealander, a race winner in Adelaide, moved from third to first with a 1:43.2287s just before the chequered flag came out.

Alexander will share the front row with Ryal Harris (Peters Motorsport Mazda BT-50).

As was the case in practice, Harris spent much of the session trading track position with team-mate Aaron Cameron.

Cameron qualified fourth and will start alongside Craig Dontas (Sieders Racing Team Mitsubishi Triton).

Dontas produced two noteworthy moments at the Turn 6/Turn 7 complex early in the session, the first a wild spin after becoming unsettled at the change of direction and the second when he bounced over the ripple strip at Turn 6.

His stablemates Ben Walsh (Western Sydney Motorsport Toyota Hilux) and Toby Price (#87 SRT Triton) make up Row 3.

Series leader Craig Woods (WSM Hilux) was seventh from Tomas Gasperak (Team 18 Holden Colorado), Matt MacKelden (SRT Hilux), Steve Wilson (Steve Wilson Racing Isuzu D-Max), and Christopher Formosa.

Formosa’s Ranger Racing Ford Ranger again suffered technical problems in the 20-minute session.

Race 1 (9 laps) is due for a start at 1445 local time/AEST.
