Carrera Cup Australia rookie Sam Power is in Valencia, Spain, this week vying for a factory-funded drive in the 2015 Porsche Supercup.
The 26-year-old South Australian is testing a 911 GT3 Cup Car alongside fellow rising stars selected from the Asian, French, Germany, British, Italian, Japanese and Scandinavian Carrera Cup competitions.
Porsche will award a single driver from the two-day test a place in its International Scholarship Program, which will see them with a funded entry into the Supercup.
The 2014 scholarship winner, Kiwi Earl Bamber, currently leads the Supercup standings with two rounds still remaining.
Power has impressed in his maiden Carrera Cup Australia season, sitting fourth in points behind experienced hands Warren Luff, Steven Richards and Craig Baird with a best finish of second.
“It’s a phenomenal opportunity,” said Power of the scholarship shootout.
“It’s frankly the best opportunity I’ve had in life with regards to motorsport and probably life itself.
“For me it’s about going in there and giving it a red hot crack and seeing what’s possible.”

Power stepped into the Team BRM ride formerly held by Nick Percat after placing third in last year’s Australian Formula Ford Championship.
The move followed a late start to his racing career that saw a by-passing of the traditional karting categories.
Power instead headed straight into Formula Vees, before progressing through the state and national Formula Ford ranks.
Taking to the wheel in Europe, he says, is the fulfilment of a long-held ambition.
“I had a dream when I first started in this sport when I was 20-years-old to one day do something in Europe,” he said.
“To have it eventuate in this fashion with Porsche is absolutely incredible.
“It’s going to be very much jumping in at the deep end, there won’t be slow people over there, but that’s what you look for as a competitor.
“We’ve got such a strong Carrera Cup here, which I think will put me in pretty good stead over there as well.”
