Australian single seater driver Spike Goddard has agreed to a new deal with T-Sport to contest the FIA European Formula 3 Championship.
The 21-year-old former British F3 National Class champion will embark upon a second season in the highly competitive F3 series with the UK based squad.
Goddard, who began his career in Formula Ford Victoria, has been a regular in European F3 meetings for the last two years while he competed in New Zealand’s Toyota Racing Series this time last year.
Last season he dovetailed his FIA European F3 commitments with outings in the British F3 Championship.
His best result of 2013 came at the British F3 round at Germany’s Nurburgring circuit where he finished second to Brazilian Felipe Guimaraes.
“Spike has worked really hard over the past two years and has made good progress”, said T-Sport Team boss Russell Eacott.
“European F3 is the highest level of F3 racing so it’s a massive challenge for all the drivers and makes them work for the results.
“With the knowledge that Spike has gained in 2013 we look forward to fighting for points in the coming season.”
Goddard is the first driver to be confirmed at T-Sport for the 2014 season.
The 2014 FIA European Formula 3 campaign begins with a trip to Silverstone on April 19-20 when the series supports the World Endurance Championship.
