The four support classes at next month’s Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour weekend have attracted in excess of 160 combined entries, race organisers have confirmed.
The Sports Sedan, Formula Ford, Saloon Car and Improved Production classes will each enjoy three races around the famed Mount Panorama course before the 12 Hour GT and production car race takes place on Sunday.
Organised by the Australian Sports Sedan Assocation NSW, the event will mark the first time that Sports Sedans have raced at Bathurst since the early 1990s.
While several of the national competitors have elected not to run, 32 cars from four different states are set to appear.
In the absence of a Kumho V8 Touring Car round at the venue, Michael Hector, Dean Neville, Mark Shepherd and Leigh Moran have all entered their ex-V8 Supercars, while Image Racing team principal and reigning KV8TC series winner Terry Wyhoon has entered a Ford Capri.
The 36-strong Formula Ford field is set to include National Championship competitor Liam Sager, Victorian State Series front-runner Scott Andrews, NZ V8 Super Tourer competitor Andre Heimgartner, and Carrera Cup hopefuly Tom Tweedie.
A total of 35 competitors will look to topple reigning series winner Matt Lovell in the opening round of the 2012 Australian Saloon Car Series, while over 50 entries have been recieved for the Improved Production class.
