Sam Bird topped the times in the penultimate day of FIA Formula E pre-season testing at Donington Park.
The DS Virgin Racing driver posted a 1:30.451s effort early in the afternoon running before rain intensified shortly after the benchmark time was set at the Leicestershire circuit.
Lucas di Grassi emerged as Bird’s nearest challenger with the Abt driver 0.3s adrift of the Brit, while there was gap of more than half a second back to Dragon Racing’s Loic Duval in third.
Venturi driver and Formula E rookie Jacques Villeneuve was fourth fastest albeit more than a second adrift of Bird.
Jerome D’Ambrosio ended the day in fifth position ahead of Venturi’s Stephane Sarrazin.
Oliver Turvey completed the most mileage with the Brit logging 54 laps, recording a time good enough for seventh spot.
Issues struck Andretti and Trulli GP squads once again with their cars consigned to the garage for the majority of the session.
Robin Frijns is expected to receive a run when testing continues later today as the Andretti team evaluate the Dutchman.
