Matthew Brabham is set to step up his Pirtek Enduro Cup preparation with a run out in practice at the Perth SuperSprint.
The third-generation racer will jump aboard the Preston Hire Racing Commodore in opening practice to accrue crucial mileage ahead of his maiden Supercars enduro appearance.
So far the 24-year-old has completed laps in the car during pre-season testing at Sydney Motorsport Park in February.
Brabham is familiar with Perth's Barbagallo Raceway having made his Supercars debut at the venue for Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport last year.
This weekend he will also be in action in the Stadium Super Trucks which feature on the support bill.
“I just need seat time and it has been a while since Sydney so it is nice to just acclimatised and comfortable again,” Brabham told Speedcafe.com.
“I have got the Winton co-driver session and a team test day coming up so I will able to get some more miles there.”
Holdsworth says Brabham's run won't affect his program too much given practice is more important this weekend with times crucial in determining the running for qualifying, courtesy of a new format.
“We need to give Mat as many laps as possible, fortunately he has done a whole race meeting here last year,” Holdsworth told Speedcafe.com.
“We will give him a couple of flyers just to give him a feel of the car and get back in tune with it.
“With the degradation around here you don't get too many laps on the tyre before you start to get a false reading on the balance, so it shouldn't hurt our plan too much.”
Opening practice is scheduled to begin at 1105 local time.
