The Confederation of Australian Motor Sport says it will name a new chief executive officer in the coming days following the resignation of incumbent David Morgan.
A statement from CAMS today has confirmed Morgan’s exit. CAMS president Andrew Papadopoulos thanked Morgan for his efforts in the role, which he joined from the mining sector in June of 2010.
“David has worked hard to ensure the organisation is more customer-focussed and that there are higher levels of accountability within it,” said Papadopoulos in the statement.
“He has also been involved in the growth of our Ignition road safety program which is all about educating children on safer approaches to driving, and in our role in bringing professionalism to other FIA ASNs (National Sporting Authorities) as a Regional Training Provider for motor sport.
“The Board of CAMS greatly appreciates David’s work over the last few years – we wish him the very best in his future endeavours.”
CAMS is the National Sporting Authority (ASN) for motor sport in Australia, as delegated by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).
