American NHRA Superstar – Cory McClenathan will be returning to Australia to complete the rain abandoned Castrol EDGE Winternationals across the weekend of July 15-17.
The American professional – who finished the 2010 NHRA season in third placing – has unfinished business here and aims to put on a show for the Aussie fans.
During his first venture to Willowbank Raceway, McClenathan got to do just a single pass – where he was becoming familiar with the Rapisarda Racing dragster – shutting it off early.
As McClenathan was lined up for his second qualifying run, the heavens opened and as history would show, was unable to complete the meeting.
“We didn’t get the chance to put on a show for our Aussie fans, so I’m coming back to do that,” McClenathan said. “The reception we got from the crowd was unbelievable, everyone was really warm and happy to have us here.
“It’ll be fun to come back and link up with Santo again.”
The Castrol EDGE Winternationals will pick up from where they left off in June, with two full rounds of Group 1 qualifying and eliminations remaining – along with all the Rocket All Stars Series action as most ANDRA categories come to their conclusion.
The action at the Castrol EDGE Winternationals will get underway at Willowbank Raceway on July 15 and proceed through to Sunday, July 17.
