Australian motorsport fans will have a number of special opportunities to see the new Brabham documentary movie thanks to crowd-funding and charity nights around the country.
Sydney motorsport enthusiasts will get their first chance to see the new movie about Australia’s legendary three-time World Drivers’ Champion Sir Jack Brabham, at a special charity screening at the Hayden Orpheum in Cremorne on Tuesday, December 10.
As well as viewing the movie, guests will also see the producers of the film, Akos Armont and Tony Davis, interviewed on stage about the film and their book upon which the documentary was based.
They will give an insight into how the movie was put together and the extensive interviews and research they did to complete the project.
Tickets to the special charity screening are $25 and proceeds from the night, which will include some unique raffles, will go to the men’s health charity Movember.
To purchase tickets, visit www.orpheum.com.au or call the box office on (02) 9908 4344.
Enthusiast Ali Guttler has booked the movie for a showing at the Regent Cinema in Albury, NSW on February 19, 2020.
Guttler is heading up one of several groups using the FanForce website as a booking agent for the event.
“There was a group of us who really wanted to see the movie, so we got ourselves organised and created an opportunity for everyone in the Albury-Wodonga area with the chance to come along,” said Guttler.
“We think that the tickets will make a great Christmas gift and we believe we will sell out our 132 spots, given the amount of interest we have had.”
A group calling themselves Fans of Motorsport have organised a showing at Village Cinemas at Fountain Gate in Victoria on November 20.
There is a charity screening at BBC Cinemas at Noosa in Queensland on December 9.
Evolve Driving will host an event at the Backlot Studios in Melbourne on January 29 and Canobolas Motorsport Services will host a screening at the Odeon Cinemas 5 in Orange on April 8.
