Formula 1 has confirmed its 2017 provisional calendar which sees the Australian Grand Prix open the season from March 23-26.
Unveiled at the latest meeting of the FIA World Motor Sport Council, the Albert Park race will take place a week later than this year’s edition.
The Australian Grand Prix was expected to be hosted a week before the second round in China, but the latter has been pushed back to April 9 due to logistical reasons.
The 21-race calendar remains largely unchanged from the 2016 schedule, although the Chinese Grand Prix will host the second race ahead of Bahrain.
The Malaysian Grand Prix has also moved to a September date previously held by the Singapore Grand Prix.
F1 is also set to clash with the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours with the European Grand Prix slated for the same June 18 slot as the French endurance classic.
Races in Canada, Germany and Brazil are listed as subject to confirmation.
