A Garry Rogers Motorsport Volvo S60 Supercar is now making its way to a new home in Sweden.
The Melbourne team agreed in February this year to send two of its iconic Volvos to Gothenburg in Sweden, following a legal battle triggered by the Swedish manufacturer's sudden exit from Supercars last year.
Today the team farewelled one of its S60 chassis which will now be housed in the Volvo museum in Gothenburg.
The car will be displayed in the 2014 colour scheme which Scott McLaughlin took to its maiden Supercars race win at Albert Park.
After failing to secure a supply of Volvo engines in the off-season, GRM returned to Holden machinery for this season.
“The first six months of 2017 have been a whirlwind at GRM and today I was very proud to see the Volvo S60 Supercar in 2014 Australian Grand Prix winning livery depart GRM Headquarters for the Volvo museum in Gothenburg, Sweden,” read a brief statement from team owner Garry Rogers.
The Volvo S60 scored six championship race wins in Supercars during its three seasons in Australia.
