Ryal Harris and Andrew Fisher have shared victories in Race 1 and Race 2 of the Auto One V8 Utes Australia championship at Bathurst today.
Jesus Racing’s Andrew Fisher did not need divine intervention to take victory in Race 2, as he forcefully passed Gary MacDonald at Forrests Elbow on Lap 5.
Fisher had all four wheels locked as he dived down the inside of MacDonald, the two made contact but were able to continue on.
Bundaberg Racing’s Cameron McConville climbed from seventh position to finish third in Race 2, while his team-mates from Holden Racing Team watched on in pit lane.
Harris had an up and down day that saw him win Race 1 then finish 5th in Race 2. However, he managed to finish ahead of title rival Nathan Pretty in both races.
Former Bathurst 1000 winner Tony Longhurst continued his climb through the field, finishing 16th in Race 1 and 12th in Race 2.
While previous Sydney Roosters and Manly Sea eagles star Jack Elsgood, started the day well when he finished 6th in Race 1 before dropping to 26th in Race 2.
Earlier in Race 1 the two females competing in the field, Hayley Swanson and Amber Anderson, collided when Swanson spun into the path of Anderson at Murray’s Corner.
Swanson went on to finish 27th while Anderson, who drives the Safety Car for V8 Supercars, did not finish the race.
V8 Utes Australia will be back on track for the Race 3 tomorrow morning at 0800 AEST.
