Heritage Touring Car series organisers are expecting a full grid of 55 Group A and C vehicles for its return to Bathurst next Easter.
The historic category has been confirmed as a star attraction at next year’s Bathurst Motor Festival.
The April 3-5 meeting will mark HTC’s first appearance at Mount Panorama since the 2011 Bathurst 12 Hour.
HTC director and competitor Ed Singleton says the event will be the highlight of the category’s 2015 season.
“James O’Brien and his team have built a great event in the Bathurst Motor Festival over the last few years and it’s no surprise that Heritage Touring Car drivers have voted with their feet to support it,” said Singleton.
“These cars were made famous by their deeds at Mount Panorama and the mix and blend of the field will see something for everyone line up on the grid.
“The Bathurst Motor Festival is a celebration of motorsport and we’re thrilled to be along for the ride.”
HTC’s five-round 2014 season sees it compete as part of historic meetings at Phillip Island, Sydney Motorsport Park (twice), Morgan Park and Sandown.
The Group A and C pointscores are currently being led by Bill Cutler (BMW M3) and Justin Mathews (Ford Escort Mk 2) respectively ahead of the third round at Morgan Park on July 12-13.
