It has been a big couple of weeks for Lee Holdsworth.
The Fujitsu Racing driver recently turned 27, got married to his long-time partner Alana in Queensland, and enjoyed a short but sweet honeymoon in the Maldives.
Holdsworth returned to Melbourne yesterday before zipping up to Winton Motor Raceway for today’s test …
“I’ve had my hands full over the past couple of weeks with my wedding and honeymoon, but now all I can think about is racing,” he said.
“In this last week, I’ve been looking forward to get back into car and get stuck into the season. It seems like a year has passed since I’ve driven.
“With the new paint job, the Fujitsu sponsorship and my new engineer (Richard Hollway), it’s a pretty exciting time. I can’t wait for it all to get underway.”
The #33 car has been one of the fastest cars all day at Winton today. Holdsworth says that there has been a lot of development components to churn through.
“It’s been going well,” he said.
“The objective isn’t necessarily to do the fastest lap on a test day, but you need to know what everyone else is doing to see what the track conditions are like. We’ve been on the pace all day, and we’ve still got a fair few things to try at the moment and hopefully improve where we are at.”
