James McFadden has got his 2013 summer off to the perfect start winning the first major Sprintcar event of the season – the Sprintcar Masters – at Adelaide's Speedway City.
The defending World Series Sprintcars Champion was the cream of a very strong crop that were in the city of churches for the Masters. Max Dumesny, Robbie Farr, Garry Brazier and his rookie son Jordyn and Steve Lines were among the stacked field.
On a single line track which produced a follow the leader finale, McFadden was able to best local hope Trevor Green and World Series Sprintcars contracted driver, Luke Dillon. Considering the track conditions, McFadden did a mighty job to advance from fourth place on the grid.
Earlier in the evening, Steven Lines set the quickest time in qualifying, he would come home fourth in the feature.
Speedway City will host the World Series Sprintcars opener on Boxing Day.
