Karting Australia has updated its manual with the procedures, sporting and technical regulations for the sport.
While fundamentally, most rules, especially technically for the major classes, remain as they were, the association has made some key changes.
Some of the most notable include the minimum age entry for Cadet, Junior and Senior classes has changed from the competitor’s year of birth to their date of birth.
In line with other sports, there has also been changes to protocols relating to concussion assessment with competitors and also for officials at events in streamlining of incident management procedures.
A National Judicial Commissioner role has been introduced with a further highlight to ensure consistency across the application of the rules and penalties handed down. In line with that, new offences and penalties procedures have also been applied.
