Kyle Clews has qualified on pole for the FW1 Aussie Racing Car round at Sydney Motorsport Park today.
Recording a fastest lap of 1:44.9025s, series leader Clews edged out Peter Carr by 0.175s to claim pole position.
The session was marred by a long red flag period after Travis Edwards and Darren Chamberlain, who share the same sponsor, collided at Turn 1.
Tyler Owen qualified third fastest followed by the VIP Petfoods duo of Maurice Masini and Darrin Masini.
Mark Griffith, Mark Duckworth, Brendon Pingel, Darren Chamberlain and Travis Edwards rounded out the top 10.
This weekend’s Aussie Racing Car action features four races consisting of 10 laps in what is the penultimate round of the championship.
Erebus Motorsport’s guest driver Jason Akermanis, qualified in 20th position in a field of 24 for tomorrow’s Race 1, which will be held at 12:05 AEST.
V8 Supercars action and the supports racing continues at Sydney Motorsport Park tomorrow.
