Porsche Carrera Cup Australia driver Roger Lago is recovering from multiple injuries following a heavy crash during qualifying at Townsville.
The Carrera Cup regular has been diagnosed with a punctured lung, broken ribs and a fractured left tibia following a heavy hit with the wall at Townsville’s Reid Park circuit.
Lago was transferred to Townsville Hospital but has since been discharged and is due to return to Brisbane today where he will continue his recovery.
The former Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge champion was due to compete in the Spa 24 Hours GT3 showpiece event later this month alongside Craig Lowndes, David Russell and Steve Owen.
