Mark Winterbottom has recovered from a difficult Saturday to take pole for Race 11 of the V8 Supercars Championship at Winton Motor Raceway.
The Orrcon Steel FPR Falcon jumped to the top of the order with just 60s remaining – knocking off yesterday’s winner Jamie Whincup (TeamVodafone) by 0.1s.
Steven Johnson (Jim Beam Racing) repeated his finishing position from yesterday in third, ahead of Garth Tander (Toll Holden Racing Team) and Michael Caruso (Fujitsu Racing).
Craig Lowndes (TeamVodafone) could not improve from sixth fastest – enduring a high-speed off at the Turn 5 sweeper on his final run.
David Reynolds (Stratco Racing), Jason Bright (Team BOC), Shane van Gisbergen (SP Tools Racing) and Tim Slade (Lucky 7 Racing) round out the top 10.
Greg Murphy was excluded from the results after running non-control wheel rims during the session.
