Experienced racer Bart Mawer will compete with Jim Hunter Motorsport in the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour at Mount Panorama next month.
Mawer will join Hunter and rally ace Dean Herridge in the #44 Johnson Window Tint Subaru Impreza Sti.
The team’s second car – the #66 Subaru Impreza WRX – will be driven by historic Torana drivers Warren Bossie, Glen Featherstone and Mark Tutton.
Team owner Hunter said that he “couldn’t be happier” with his driving partners.
“The driving lineup is complete and I’m excited to have both Barton and Dean joining me in the Sti,” he said.
“I couldn’t be happier. Dean and Barton are two of the nicest guy’s around and terrific drivers to boot.
“We are all about the same size so seat position etc. is not an issue and we all are going with the attitude that we will not be as quick as the (Mitsubishi) Evo’s but it is an endurance race and we plan to be at the finish. I think there will be an EVO race and an endurance race. We want to win the endurance race while they race each other.”
Mawer has an impressive list of driving credentials, including Formula Ford, Formula 3 (Australian and the UK), Champ Car Formula Atlantic and Carrera Cup.
