Rhys McNally and Nathan Pretty have shared victories in Round Six of the Australian V8 Ute Racing Series – Fuelled by Hog’s Breath Café at Bathurst.

McNally beat polesitter David Sieders off the line and aside from an off at Skyline on Lap 2 was largely untroubled on his way to Holden’s first Race 1 victory since Townsville last year.

Title challenger Sieders briefly threatened McNally before being unloaded by an out-of-control Ryal Harris at The Chase on Lap 4, allowing series leader Walton to take second.

Pretty passed George Miedecke to win Race 2 after Elliott Barbour threw away an early lead.

Miedecke finished runner-up from Sieders, who survived late-race contact from Walton, the latter ultimately classified in sixth.

Harris climbed to ninth after his penalty had relegated him from fourth to 19th in the opener.

Touring Car Masters

Jim Richards won the second race in the penultimate TCM round, while John Bowe finished eighth after a late-race error and Andrew Miedecke fell agonisingly short of the finish line.

Starting from fourth as a result of the top ten inversion, Richards worked his way into the lead on Lap 3 and pulled comfortably clear as several fought over second place.

Greg Crick came out on top in that battle, ahead of Cameron Mason.

Bowe threw away a solid finishing position when he out-braked himself while attempting to take Keith Kassulke for fourth on the penultimate lap and toured the Hell Corner gravel trap.

Miedecke parked his Camaro at pit entry on the final lap with a mechanical issue.

Aussie Racing Cars

Kyle Clews won Round Five of the Aussie Racing Cars Super Series after holding out Maurice Masini to win Race 2, while Adam Gowans claimed the finale in a thriller.

Clews, starting from seventh in the reverse top ten Race 2, had jumped first after just two laps, surviving an opening lap scare at The Esses when he nearly unloaded Peter Carr and himself.

Sam Milton beat Clews off the line in Race 3 but it was category debutante Grant Denyer who held top spot by laps end.

Denyer lead from there until the very last corner, when he left the door open for Gowans to slip past and take victory by less than four hundredths of a second.

Touring Car Masters and V8 Utes conclude with their third races at 0720 and 0820 tomorrow.
