On Sunday, Team CMR drivers Thibaut Mogica and Hugo Mogica tried to enter the circuit but were not allowed in.
They forced their way into the venue, at which point a confrontation began with security and ended with pepper spray being used on the drivers..
The pair were found to be in breach of the international sporting code and the GT4 European Series regulations for misconduct and unsporting behaviour against a service/safety operator.
“During the hearing the drivers admitted that they were involved in the misconduct incident against the safety staff of the circuit,” a stewards’ report read.
“The incident originated with a sort of miscommunication at the entrance of the paddock due to a car pass issue and continued due to the fact that car with drivers did not stop upon the staff security order.
“After that the escalation of the incident increased with a fight between the drivers and guests and service staff who used defence spray.
“The behaviour of the drivers of car 51 is not acceptable and contrary to the interest of the motorsport (sic) and constitutes a serious breach of obligation of conduct and safety applicable to all competitors and drivers and therefore the Stewards issued the penalties above.”
Those penalties included a suspended fine of 5000 euros ($8100 AUD) until the end of the season in case of a similar infringement.
Under the international sporting code, they were removed from reserved areas of the event and were also banned from Sunday’s race.
The Mogica brothers were competing as a Pro-Am entry in their #51 Team CMR Ginetta G56 GT4 Evo.
The GT4 European Series acts as a support class to GT World Challenge Europe.
