Greg Murphy will drive for Queensland-based V8 Supercar team Supercheap Auto Racing next year, reports Motorsport eNews.
The online magazine reports today that the 37-year-old New Zealander will soon put pen to paper on a deal to team up with Russell Ingall in the Supercheap Auto Racing which will run Triple Eight Engineering-built Holden Commodores next year.
The move will see Murphy realign himself with sponsor Supercheap Auto, who he was supported by in 2004-2006 with PWR Racing.
Murphy’s move coincides with Tasman Motorsport’s Racing Entitlements Contracts that have been made available for sale (see separate story).
It also puts to rest the ‘Murphy to Ford’ rumours which have been floating around in the motor sport media for the past month.
This will not be the first time that Ingall and Murphy have teamed up. The pair drove a Holden Vectra for the 1998 AMP Bathurst 1000 (for Super Tourers). They failed to finish that race when Ingall crashed at the top of the mountain.

Speedcafe understands that Murphy is likely to try and make a deal to take his #51 racing number with him – a number that he has campaigned in the V8 Supercar Series since 2001.
