Ferrari’s new 488 GTE challenger has broken cover following a shakedown run at the Vallelunga circuit in Italy.
The replacement for the Italian manufacturer’s 458 Italia is expected to make its competition debut at the 2016 Daytona 24 Hours in January.
Ferrari is yet to release images of its latest offering although photographs of the car from the Vallelunga hit-out earlier this month have emerged today.
The car, powered by a 3.9 litre twin turbo V8, is yet to undergo Balance of Performance testing.
A GT3 version of the 488 is set to begin testing soon ahead of its launch in time for the 2016 season.
Melbourne squad Maranello Motorsport has already revealed plans to order three 488 GT3s to contest the 2016 Australian GT Championship.
