Nissan’s attempt to win a second Bathurst 12 Hour on Sunday week will accelerate today with a crucial shakedown of one of its two GT-R Nismo GT3 entries at Winton.
The #23 machine will have its first hit-out after arriving from Japan where it was recently built by Nismo.
Todd Kelly is booked to undergo his maiden laps in a GT-R.
He will be joined by Michael Caruso in the shakedown which will be limited to a total of 250km at the north-eastern Victorian circuit.
The #23 GT-R will be raced by Caruso, Alex Buncombe and the electrifying Japanese 2015 Bathurst 12 Hour winner Katsumasa Chiyo at Mount Panorama.
A reveal is planned for the #24 chassis which remains in the Nissan Motorsport workshop in Melbourne.
That machine will be handled by Kelly, Florian Strauss and Jann Mardenborough at the mountain classic.
