Development of the new Honda NSX GT3 continues ahead of its scheduled competitive debut next year.
Unveiled at the New York International Auto Show in March, Honda’s new GT3 weapon has been conducting tests at GingerMan Raceway, Michigan ahead of its FIA homologation scheduled for September.
Badged as an Acura, the 3.5 litre twin turbo V6 race car will feature in a factory backed GT3 effort in America next year.
The Acura NSX GT3 racecar features custom bodywork including a large deck wing spoiler, underbody diffuser and enlarged hood vents for efficient engine cooling during its latest test.
Honda Performance Development has taken control of the project following initial development work being conducted in Japan.
“Building on the very solid foundation of the production NSX, we’re making steady progress in our development and looking forward to campaigning the GT3 racecar next year,” said Art St. Cyr, president of Honda Performance Development.
