Former Force India Formula 1 driver Paul di Resta will return to the DTM this season.
The fate of di Resta's Formula 1 career was sealed late last year when Force India confirmed that it would field Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez this season.
Di Resta's DTM return comes with Mercedes, with whom he won the title in 2010.
“The DTM is a fantastic racing series with three strong premium brands, a very competitive field and a very evenly matched bunch of drivers,” he said.
“I'm really looking forward to working with the whole Mercedes-Benz DTM team and being part of another championship challenge.”
Di Resta started 58 Grands Prix with Force India over three seasons, scoring a best race finish of fourth.
The Scot is one of three F1 drivers left without a ride for the new season following the confirmation of Caterham's line-up on Tuesday.
Dutchman Giedo van der Garde has landed a Sauber reserve driver seat following his exit from Caterham while the future of his former team-mate, Frenchman Charles Pic, is currently unclear.
Australian Mark Webber will also be missing from the F1 field following his decision to move to the World Endurance Championship with Porsche.
