Pedrosa tops Buriram MotoGP test

Dani Pedrosa has emerged fastest from three days of pre-season MotoGP testing at Buriram.

Pedrosa (Repsol Honda) pipped Johann Zarco (Tech3 Yamaha) on the final day, going faster right at the end of the eight-hour session.

Marc Marquez’s Day 2 flyer left him third fastest for the test on combined times and fourth on the day, during which the Repsol Honda rider experienced a minor crash amid another big haul of 96 laps.

Friday fast man Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda) was third-fastest on the Sunday and Alex Rins (Suzuki Ecstar) fifth, the latter also hitting the deck during the day.

Jack Miller’s promising pre-season continued despite being ever so slightly slower (0.005s) than he was a day earlier, setting a time good enough for sixth on the day and the test combined.

Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) was seventh-fastest having tested three different aero fairings, while on combined times Maverick Viñales (Movistar Yamaha) was eighth and Danilo Petrucci (Pramac Ducati) ninth.

Rookie Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda) was eighth on the day and 10th combined, while Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha) ended up 10th on the day and 12th combined.

Jorge Lorenzo languished in 22nd on the day and ended the test 16th on combined times, starting Sunday on a Ducati GP18 before switching to the GP17 but failing to improve.

Testing resumes at Qatar on March 1.
