Will Davison will complete his final event for Erebus Motorsport with a one-off livery celebrating the 90th anniversary of sponsor Penrite.
Founded in Melbourne in 1926, the lubricants firm is set to chalk up the milestone next year.
Penrite has been the primary sponsor on Erebus’ #9 Mercedes since October’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
The company is set to remain as a minor partner of the team next season, where David Reynolds will take over from Davison in the driver’s seat.
John Dymond, who bought Penrite in 1979 from original founder Les Mecoles, says the company is committed to its V8 Supercars involvement.
The sponsor has had a strong presence at race tracks since Bathurst, making the most of its investment with the team.
“This is a perfect fit for Penrite; V8 Supercars is one of Australia’s most loved pastimes,” he said.
“We are proud to be an Australian-owned and made product.
“V8 Supercars is the third most watched sport in Australia and we see great value in being a part of it.”
Will Davison is joined by his brother Alex in the team this weekend, who takes over the #4 Wendy’s backed Mercedes for a one-off appearance as a primary driver.
