Nick Percat has topped qualifying for the first Carrera Cup race at the final round of the one-make Porsche Championship at Surfers Paradise.
Driving the #222 Coates Hire entry, Percat sliced to the top position by clocking a 1:13.2329s lap, to assume the top grid spot by .30s.
It was the fifth time this season Percat has topped qualifying from seven events.
Steve Richards (Laser) eclipsed his best late in the session to record 1:13.5417s to nudge Craig Baird (Jet Travel) back to third.
Michael Patrizi (Ausdrill) will start on the second row beside Baird while Warren Luff (No Second Chance) was fifth fastest.
Baird has a chance of wrapping up the championship in the first of three 14-lap heats tomorrow.
