
German squad Phoenix Racing will lead a six-car Audi R8 attack on February’s Bathurst 12 Hour.
Phoenix is a late confirmation to return to the race with a single 2013 specification Audi R8 LMS Ultra.
The Ernst Moser-run team won the Mount Panorama classic in 2012 when operating as a two-car Audi factory squad.
It fielded a single Audi last year, finishing fourth with drivers Harold Primat, Andreas Simonsen and Johan Kristoffersson.
Five other privately run Audis have already been confirmed within the 50-strong 12 Hour field.
British outfit United Autosports and Chinese team Absolute Racing will also dispatch their R8s to Bathurst.
Locally, the Mark Eddy/Marc Cini combination’s assault is again expected to be led by German import Christopher Mies.
V8 Supercars star Jason Bright highlights the driver line-up in Rod Salmon’s Audi, which also includes Warren Luff and Liam Talbot.
Dean Koutsoumidis’ 2011-specification R8 in Class B completes the German marque’s representation.
The full Bathurst 12 Hour entry list will be unveiled by race organisers on Monday, with one last international team tipped to be joining the race.
The field already includes visitors from Singapore (Clearwater Racing), Italy (AF Corse), the United Kingdom (United Autosports), Japan (Nismo), China (Absolute Racing) and the United States of America (Competition Motorsports).
