After much anticipation Supercars fans have been offered a preview to the future sound of Australia’s premier series.
The 3.6 litre General Motors twin turbo V6 is currently in development having been fitted to the squad’s Holden Sandman Supercar chassis.
Testing has ramped up since last month’s original run at the Norwell Motorplex, with a further run at the Gold Coast facility last week prior to its first proper track test at Queensland Raceway.
The sound of the engine has sparked heated debate among fans with the introduction of V6 turbo engines being a seismic shift from the traditional V8 power plants that have been the bedrock of the series.
Triple Eight has utilised several types of exhaust as it bids to extract the best possible note from its new engine.
The team has reiterated that the engine is still in its development phase
