Jonathan Rea was crowned the World Superbike champion after the opening race at the Jerez round in Spain.
The British rider has claimed 12 races this season and 20 podium finishes from the first 21 races in 2015.
Rea’s fourth place in the opening race won by Tom Sykes (Kawasaki) was good enough to seal the crown.
He becomes the third rider to win the title on a Kawasaki since the World Superbike Championship was established in 1988.
Rea is the fifth Briton to win the title after Carl Fogarty, Neil Hodgson, James Toseland and Tom Sykes.
The second heat was take out by Ducati’s Chaz Davies with Rea again missing a podium place.
He has taken the title with the French (October 4) and Qatar (October 18) rounds left to run.
