David Reynolds will step back into a Bundaberg Red Racing Commodore at Winton Motor Raceway on Friday.
The 24-year-old, who was the full-time Bundy Red driver last year, will steer Fabian Coulthard’s #24 Commodore VE in the endurance driver session on Friday morning.
Reynolds drove Will Davison’s #22 Toll Holden Racing Team Commodore in the same session at Queensland Raceway two weeks ago.
Walkinshaw Racing (which encompasses Toll HRT and Bundaberg Red Racing) has not locked in its endurance line-up, but it certainly has enough drivers to fill its seats. Cameron McConville, Craig Baird and Reynolds are confirmed for Phillip Island and Bathurst, with Ryan Briscoe set to suit up with them at Bathurst and the Gold Coast 600.
McConville will drive Tander’s car at Winton on Friday, with Baird in Davison’s car.
Fujitsu V8 Series rookie Nick Percat remains a chance to drive with Andrew Thompson in the #10 Bundaberg Red Racing Commodore at Phillip Island only. Percat is again listed to get laps in Thompson’s car at Winton.
While Reynolds is unsure what car he’ll race later this year, he’s pleased to get extra laps in the #24 Bundy Red car this weekend – even if he doesn’t fit as well in Coulthard’s seat.
“It’s good to get some miles – you need confidence in these cars,” he said.
“The more miles you get, the more confident you are.
“When I jumped in Fabian’s car the other day, I had to change the brake pedal, had to change the seat position – it’s going to be a really hard stop for us if we’re going to drive together.”
