Daniel Ricciardo will move on from the disappointment following a clash with Max Verstappen after accepting an apology from his Red Bull team-mate.
The Australian was taken out of Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix on the opening lap by Versteppen who side swiped Ricciardo at Turn 2.
Verstappen was handed a 10 second time penalty during the race for his role in the crash which dropped him to fifth.
Ricciardo says the situation between Verstappen has now been dealt with behind closed doors, allowing the duo to move on.
“Yesterday (Sunday) was hard to take. You build up all day for those couple hours of racing and then it’s gone like that,” Ricciardo tweeted.
“Max apologised to me after the race and we spoke one on one away from media or anyone.
“The situation was handled and taken care of in the right way to move forward.”
Formula 1 heads into its mid-season break with the championship set to reconvene at the Belgian Grand Prix from August 25-27.
